Create Your Sales Strategy in 30 Minutes
“Making sales,” when I first got into business was the same as asking me to run as a weightlifter. I understand its important, but I’d rather do ANYTHING else.
The word “sales,” is pretty scary when you inevitably have to dive head first into it to make money in your business.
If you’re already slightly cringing at the word or this topic, you’re exactly where you need to be. Let’s put on our running shoes and tackle this together.
Mindset
Sales is always going to be a scary topic if you think of it as a way to make a transaction. At the heart of everything, that is NOT what sales is.
Instead, I think of sales as a way to serve someone who may need my services. If they need my services, great! If my services can’t help them get to their desired goal, then I’d rather help them find something or someone better.
2. Uncover your ideal client’s needs.
For all my high-ticket women, this process will be a little more extensive. You might have to ask people, deploy a questionnaire, or host discovery calls, but the objective is the same. Uncover what their actual goals are and how they would feel after they did.
3. Create the leap factor
Target one service and list out the objectives/ your unique strategy that will help them achieve their desired results.
Example: My Empire Builder’s Membership has:
Unlimited access to me via direct message → this helps business owners achieve clarity by getting custom answers to their questions.
Monthly hot-seat coaching → In-depth trainings help provide actionable steps that members need to ignite them & move their business forward.
All-access to worksheets & templates → Business owners get ease of mind knowing the heavy-lifting of creating tools is done for them. All they have to do is customize them.
Monthly document review (up to 5 pages) → My direct edits for any project they want gives business owners confidence moving forward.
4. Wrap it up
Now that you understand selling is an extension of your services to help someone get to the desired result that you can help them achieve, it’s not as black and white as, “They did/didn’t buy.”
Remember, if someone doesn’t buy from you, it’s not a personal attack. Maybe the results they want didn’t line up with your services. If you find yourself constantly unable to make sales, think of it as a sign to re-evaluate the way you present your offer.
